THREE DOG BAKERY PRESENTS THE FLYING PUG

This event is designed to be fun, lighthearted, and dog-friendly. It’s not a race, and there’s no need to run. You can walk with your dog, come with family, or even go solo—just enjoy the outing!

The Flying Pug is not a marathon—no running required! It’s a casual, self-paced bingo-themed scavenger hunt designed for people and their dogs to enjoy together while exploring the shops and local businesses in Rookwood Commons and Pavilion. Here’s how it works:
 
  • Start at Three Dog Bakery, where you’ll pick up a Bingo card, event map, and some special offers.
  • Then, visit participating stores and partners around Rookwood at your own pace—no set route, no time limits.
  • At each stop, collect stamps to fill in your Bingo card.
  • If you complete a standard Bingo line, you’ll win a prize 
  • If you go above and beyond and fill the entire card, you’ll be entered into a grand prize drawing. 
  • Every registered participant wins a prize, even if they don’t complete a full Bingo.

CincyNature Summer Camp
Registration Now Open!

CincyNature Camps provide a safe and inclusive environment for children to experience the natural world through hands-on activities. Each week, campers explore different habitats, make nature-inspired crafts, play endless games, and sing silly songs with their new friends. Our trained counselors will help instill a love for nature as they guide campers throughout the week. Fresh air, hands-on activities, close encounters with animals and plants, and increased knowledge of the natural world help build confidence, passion, and knowledge about the environment.

Foragers’ Workshop—Tending the Forager’s Garden at Long Branch Farm & Trails
Sunday, May 18, 2025
2 – 6 pm 

Learn how to utilize your land for foraging and grow your own native food plants while simultaneously benefiting wildlife. We’ll showcase multiple options for capturing and preserving your harvest, and demonstrate a forager’s basket-full of options for how to use them as we make and taste light food bites.

Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalist Program

The mission of the Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalist program is to “promote awareness and citizen stewardship of Ohio’s natural resources through science-based education and community service.” The course is offered throughout the state, and Cincinnati Nature Center is the largest provider. Here, we offer four different formats—one is sure to fit your needs! Plan ahead and mark your calendars to register, because each cohort sells out quickly! Course runs May 17–July 22, 2025.

Family Music Picnic

Nature-Based Mindful Eating

Nature provides us with clues as to how to eat, but we need to slow down and pay attention to our own internal senses. Hone your own body’s nutritional wisdom and your connection to nature as we blend mindful exercises with natural history, food tasting, hands-on activities, and short walks to forage.

Native Plants 101 (Online, Self-Paced Course)
Begins Monday, August 4, 2025

Bring life to your outdoor space while helping the natural world! In this practical, self-paced, online course, you’ll discover the human and ecological benefits of planting native, learn about powerhouse native plants, and create a garden plan that fits your outdoor space (and personality!). From site assessment to plant choice and maintenance, this course will give you the tools you need to get started with native gardening in your backyard or community.
